Small Grants Scheme 2020 – Situation report
The 2020 Small Grants Scheme was open to civil society organisations (CSOs) including non-government organisations (NGOs), voluntary associations and other non-profit organisations working in Armenia, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan. The deadline for applications was 1 February.
Projects must be aimed at strengthening the position of women in rural communities and mustaddress issues in one of the following areas:
- Public participation
- Information and skills for economic security
- Preventing domestic violence
Preference will be given to projects involving both men and women. Counselling services are not included this year. Applicants must be working with one or more partner organisations.
77 bids were received, from all 8 eligible countries. 11 were rejected because they did not meet the technical criteria. The others are being assessed by BEARR’s team of experts. The results will be conveyed to applicants by early May and announced shortly after that.
