Online talk with Oliver Bullough
Journalist and author Oliver Bullough joins BEARR online on 20 October to discuss illicit wealth, kleptocracy and organised crime.

This October, BEARR is delighted to welcome investigative journalist and award-winning author Oliver Bullough to discuss the themes arising from his latest book, ‘Everybody Loves Our Dollars’, and the global systems that allow illicit wealth to sustain corruption, kleptocracy and organised crime.
Bullough has spent two decades tracing what happens to stolen money after it leaves its country of origin. His work has particular relevance to the countries in which BEARR operates – and to the UK, where much of this wealth ultimately arrives.
Long-standing BEARR supporters may remember his excellent 2021 Summer Lecture, ‘The Londongrad Laundromat and its consequences’. This will be a great chance to hear how his research has developed, five years on.

There is no charge to register and attend the talk. However, if you can, please consider making a voluntary donation of £25 per person (or any amount that you wish to give) when registering.
Your donation will fund BEARR grants to grassroots organisations supporting vulnerable people across Eastern Europe, the South Caucasus and Central Asia. These organisations provide essential services including support for older people and people with disabilities, legal assistance and help for survivors of violence. Donations also support Ukrainian civil society organisations maintaining vital community services during the war and rebuilding their capacity for the future.
