During a parliamentary budget standing committee session held on 1 November, Armenia’s Finance Minister Vahe Hovhannisyan announced plans to allocate 162 billion, 996 million drams from the State budget to the Ministry of Health for 2025.
According to the Minister, this is a reduction of 5.3 billion drams or 3.1%, compared to this year’s figure. He also touched on the issue of comprehensive medical insurance for which 18 billion drams had been allocated this year.
“Various redistributions were made from this budget as the aforementioned scheme was never implemented”, said Hovhannisyan.
It was also noted that pensioners will be included on the list in 2025 and will be able to use all the services in the package. Compulsory medical insurance for the entire Armenian population will be introduced from 2027.
