10.02.2017
The first of this year’s regional Community Forum meetings is to take place from 27-28 February in Yaroslavl. The second gathering will be held in Rostov.
Collaborative arrangements between representatives from the business community. Government and NGOs will be finalised during Community Forum meetings in 2017, reports the Federation’s Public Chamber. Such agreements will be in the form of social projects, the best of which will be presented at the Forum’s final meeting of the year in Moscow.
The Community project is a key Public Chamber initiative which includes Forum campaigns run under the aegis of the Chamber’s University and the “I am a citizen” prize which have involved thousands of activists from across Russia.
“The Community Forum has become a source of culture with a new vision for the next 10-15 years that is chiefly targeted at people with the desire for expressing their creative nature. We’ve already started to bring together a community of “doers” who share basic human values of kindness, empathy and compassion”, said Alexander Brechalov, Secretary of the Public Chamber.
The final Community Forum meeting of 2016 took place in Moscow on 3-4 November, with previous gatherings held in Omsk, Perm, Khabarovsk, Yalta, Ekaterinburg, Cherepovets, Grozny and Volgograd. The main cross-cutting theme of last year’s Forum meetings was the development of a new way of promoting the growth of the third sector, with individual sections worked on at each Forum meeting during 2016.
The Community Forum project will also be running training courses for NGOs, Government agencies and the media during 2017.
