The most popular grant areas among the applicants were as follows:

The protection of citizens’ health and the promotion of a healthy lifestyle (2047 initiatives)

The field of science, schooling, and education (1510 applications)

Social services, social support, and the protection of citizens (1506 projects).

Despite the fact that this is the 12th Grants Competition, 6% of all NGOs who submitted projects were first-time applicants.

As with previous competitions, non-profit organisations accounted for the largest grant requests, ranging from 500,000 to 3 million roubles. 53% of all submissions came from NGOs, 32% of which applied for a grant of up to 500,000 roubles.

At the end of October, a council of experts will determine which applications will be submitted for further review. The results of the competition will be announced by January 15 2022.

A total of 110,331 initiatives have been submitted to the Presidential Grants Fund since April 2017. 20 thousand socially significant projects have been supported, with a total of 41 billion roubles rewarded.
