Krasnogorsk Forum for Social Innovation in the Regions

Civil servants and NGOs to discuss social services, business participation in NGO affairs and project management in Krasnogorsk

The full programme of the Second Forum for Social Innovation of the Regions has been announced.

At the Second Forum for Social Innovation of the Regions, the results of a competition of social projects aimed at helping the elderly and solving the problems of the older generation will be announced. The contest was organised by the Federation Council together with the Federation’s Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs, the Elena and Gennady Timchenko Charitable Foundation and the Council of Prorectors for Raising Awareness of Russian Educational Organisations of Higher Education.

The competition’s social projects are divided into the categories: “Socially oriented non-commercial organisations: new possibilities”, “Social services: modern approaches”, “Senior citizens: modern possibilities” and “Young volunteers in the solving of social problems”.

According to Galina Karelova, coordinator of the party political project, “Senior citizens” and co-chairperson of the organisational committee of the Second Forum for Social Innovation of the Regions, many projects are also aimed at stimulating elderly people towards an active way of life.  

Access to social service provisions for non-governmental organisations will also be widely discussed at this year’s forum, including discussion on the status of the NGO-IOPU (provider of socially useful services), the draft law regarding state (municipal) commission and the retraining of personnel. Other topics include social innovation in the development of human capital assets, project management, the role of business in the regions’ social development, volunteer movements in the social sphere, social enterprise, female enterprise and others. During several sections of the Forum, a direct video link-up will connect with other areas of the Russian Federation. The Forum’s full programme can be found here.

The organisers of the Forum for Social Innovation are the Federation Council, the Moscow oblast government, the Ministry for Economic Development, the Ministry for Labour and Social Affairs and the Agency for Strategic Initiatives. Amongst the speakers are: presidential adviser German Klimenko; the Chairman of the Board of the Federation’s Pension Fund, Anton Drozdov; the General Director of Presidential Grants Fund, Ilya Chukalin; the head of Rosmolodezhi, Aleksandr Bugaev; the Minister for Sport, Pavel Kolobkov; the Minister for Economic Development, Maksim Oreshkin; the Minister for Health, Veronika Skvortsova; the Minister for Education, Olga Vasileva; the Director of the Agency for Social Information, Elena Topoleva; as well as senators, department heads of relevant agencies and NGO representatives.

The Forum will take place in Krasnogorsk (Moscow oblast) 8-9 June.
