Moscow fair for social entrepreneurs

On 9 October a social projects fair is to
take place at the International Trade Centre

 

Registration
to take part in the event which is being organised as part of the international
conference on social innovations, has commenced.

 

 

The
fair will offer an opportunity for social entrepreneurs to showcase their
achievements to potential investors, share experiences with colleagues, and
meet government representatives and leading specialists, from both Russia and
abroad, in the field of socially responsible business. The fair will feature
products of the creative laboratory, Teatr Vkusa (Theatre of Taste),
eco-friendly notebooks from Ecopad, original work by people with disabilities
from Naivno Ochen and articles produced by people with disabilities from Avoska
Darit Nadezhdu (Avoska Gives Hope).

 

 

Participants
will also be able to take part in thematic master classes, round tables and
other events on the conference programme.

 

 

The
first international conference was organised by Vagit Alekperov, founder of the
first organisation in Russia for the development and support of social
entrepreneurship, Nashe Budushchee, (Our Future) with the aim of developing
social innovation in Russia. The main themes of the event are social entrepreneurship,
corporate social responsibility, charity, development of human capital and
public-private partnership in the social sphere.

 

 

Members
of the conference co-ordinating council are as follows. Sergei Katyrin,
president of the Russian Federation’s (RF) Trade and Industry Chamber, Natalya
Larionova, director of the department for the development of small and medium
business at the RF’s ministry of economic development, Svetlana Mironyuk,
editor in chief of RIA Novosti (Russian Information Agency News) Konstantin
Khabenski, founder of the eponymous charity, Aleksandr Shokhin, president of
the Russian Association of Industrialists and Business People and of the
Advanced School of Economics, and Aleksandr Brechalov, president of the
National Organisation of Small and Medium Businesses, Opora Rossii (Supporting
Russia).
