NGO leaders invited to Public Chamber forums

Registration is open for the 7^th and 8^th sessions of the “Community” forums, which will be held on 6-7 October in Stavropol and on 19-20 October in Krasnodar. The Public Chamber of the Russian Federation invites NGO leaders, trade unionists, civil activists and representatives of different unofficial groups and communities to take part in a study of the third sector in the North Caucasus and Southern federal regions.

In order to participate in the study it’s necessary to fill out a form found on the website, where registration for participants in the forum is already open.

During the “Community” forums, organisations and initiative groups will have the chance to present their own projects to experts; the best civilian proposals will be included in the Public Chamber of the Russian Federation’s “Perspective” report.

Other “Community” forums have already taken place in Nizhny Novgorod, Novosibirsk, Petrozavodsk, Yakutia, Chelyabinsk and Sevastopol.

The main outcome of the series of forums by the Public Chamber is to set up cooperative ties with proponents of social initiatives and NGOs on the theme of civil society, as well as to include constructive proposals for its growth in the annual report by the Russian Public Chamber.

The final report comprising results from all federal regions will be presented to the President of the Russian Federation at the final “Community” forum, on 3-4 November 2015. The organisers predict that more than 3500 engaged citizens and NGOs from different Russian regions will take part in said final forum in Moscow.
