Perspective gets 558 applications for presidential grants

Perspective receives 558 applications in the third Presidential Grants’ Round

Moscow, 12.09.2016

Perspective, a charity that supports public activities in small towns and rural areas, has received 558 applications from NGOs operating in 78 Russian regions, the majority coming from the Central and Povolzhskiy federal districts (146 and 136 respectively). The most popular grant theme was “Implementing socially important projects to develop civil society institutions in small towns and rural areas”.

“In general, the winners will be small projects that are focused on social impact on a small specific area. By the final meeting of the Public Chamber’s Community forum we will have assembled a collection of best practice which can be replicated across all Russian regions”, said Alexander Svinin, Perspective’s CEO.

The Presidential Grants’ administrators have already announced the results of the second Round, in which Perspective supported 63 projects from 39 Russian regions.

Four Presidential Grants’ Rounds will take place during 2016. 4,589,914,800 roubles have been allocated from the federal budget for organisations that undertake socially important projects and those that protect the rights and freedoms of citizens. All the Grants’ administrators are obliged to draw up procedures for assessing the social impact of projects that receive Presidential Grant support.

The results of the third Round will be announced in October. The fourth Round began at the end of August.
