Russia: new Commission on Digital Transformation of the Social Sphere
The Cabinet of Ministers to create a Commission on the Digital Transformation of the Social Sphere
21.07.2021
A decree on the creation of an inter-departmental commission to coordinate the implementation of the concept of the digital and functional transformation of the social sphere up until 2025 has been signed by Russia’s Prime Minister, Mikhail Mishustin.
The commission will coordinate the work of federal executive authorities, State non-budgetary resources, organisations and others involved in this initiative, consider proposals on the functions and tasks of a single digital platform, and monitor the delivery of a social treasury model.
The new body will include representatives from the Ministries of Labour, Finance and Economic Development, the Pension and Social Insurance Funds, together with relevant federal executive agencies. It will be headed by Russia’s Deputy Prime Minister who will coordinate issues around social development, improvements in living standards and incomes, social insurance and pensions.
The concept was approved by the federal government in March this year and states that Russia will have a digital platform that will bring together a wide range of social support measures.
