This initiative will be useful for those who are new to how international cooperation works and more experienced teams who have already tried their hand at organising international projects.

A process has begun to select participants for an educational project “CSOs without borders” for leaders and managers of CSO international humanitarian cooperation programmes.

During the free training programme, participants will prepare a roadmap for a specific project which will be developed into a grant application. Specialist advice and project analysis will be provided by federal and international experts.

Participants will also learn how to find foreign partners and establish their viability; how to properly integrate international projects into their organisation’s development strategy; how to expand opportunities for finding sponsors for social projects and how to find tools and technologies that can be used for replicating them.

“Today, talking face-to-face is an important means of promoting humanitarian influence and foreign policy. Public diplomacy, therefore, should not merely be an activity for people who engage in it, but something that first and foremost takes account of the country’s interests, not just those of the public themselves. This principle needs to be understood, as well as knowing how to integrate projects into an organisation’s overall strategy, to adapt its content, secure funding and work on developing initiatives. Our course will cover all this and discuss how the results can be usefully applied”, says Dmitry Polikanov, Deputy Head of the Federal Agency for Commonwealth of Independent States Affairs, Nationals Living Abroad and International Humanitarian Cooperation.

The project comprises a number of modules. The transition to each stage of the training requires the successful completion of the test from the previous module. The training is conducted in Russian.

Applicants have until 21 August to register their interest on the project’s website: https://ngocourses.ru

Course timetable

The first phase will take place from 1 to 30 September and will consist of ten video lessons.

The second stage will last from 1 to 31 October and involve expert practitioners in a live online format.

Based on the results of the phases, the top 30 participants will take part in a face-to-face four-day intensive session in December.

The project is being organised by the Institute of Socio-Creative Asset Development in cooperation with Rossotrudnichestvo, the Gorchakov Public Diplomacy Support Fund and the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Also involved are the Presidential Grants Fund and the Agency of Social Information.
