Sberbank launches a charity platform

Sberbank, with the support of Visa, has organised a new service for daily charity help. “Together with Sberbank” aims to bring individuals together who want to help people in need, as well as identifying reliable NGOs and charities who can help with this.

Fifteen stories of people in need of support are posted on the internet platform. The site’s users can choose one of them and provide a donation for a specific purpose. Each profile indicates which charity is assigned to a particular person. The person’s story will be continually updated and added to, said a Sberbank representative.

Simple navigation of the site makes it easy to decide who a person would like to help: Adults, Nature, Children, Culture. For example, you can make a donation to organise the transportation of Sheredar Trust patients to their rehab centre, transfer money to be used in the care of palliative patients, to wards at the Orthodox Charity organisation, Mercy, or to help war veterans (Remembering the Generations charity), and in purchasing a highly functional prosthesis with external energy source.

Having already donated, the user will always know what happens in the story before and after the donations are complete. Organisers promise to send e-mail reports to all those involved.

“The “Together with Sberbank” platform provides an opportunity to do good deeds on a daily basis and NGOs to do the work they were set up to do. And we, as organisers, can guarantee that help will reach its recipients as we are very serious in our choice of NGOs”, said Alexander Altukhov, Director of the Special Solutions Division.

“Choose a story that interests you and give as much as you want. We appreciate every donation, however large or small. Our service enables you to help right now”, said Ekaterina Petelina, Visa’s CEO in Russia.
