Immune Patrol is a game-based educational module designed for 10 to 12 year olds which has been developed by the World Health Organisation’s (WHO) European Regional Office. The digital educational version is being introduced into existing school health and wellbeing programmes.
Employees of the WHO’s Country Office in Turkmenistan presented the first prototype of the game-based education module to Turkmenistan’s Health and Medical Industry and Education Ministries. The module created in the Turkmen language is aimed at schoolchildren from 10-12 years of age, according to the Turkmenistan Golden Age newspaper.
Discussions following the presentation resulted in all parties agreeing the next steps for developing a roadmap for the upcoming pilot introduction of the game in Turkmen secondary schools.
Annual European Immunisation Week was held in Turkmenistan last month during which an awareness-raising campaign was launched in schools, with competitions and open classes held to explain the need for timely vaccination of children.
