Ukraine needs 39 billion dollars to rebuild its social protection sector

This was reported by the Ministry of Social Policy’s Press Office, quoting the results of the *Fourth Rapid Damage and Needs Assessment for Ukraine’s recovery.
Losses in social security provision have been estimated at 500 million dollars, in particular damage to and destruction of social infrastructure.
According to the Ministry, 200 social infrastructure facilities, including centres that provide social services, have been damaged or destroyed during the war.
“At the same time, reconstruction costs exceed losses by more than seventy times and amount to 39 billion dollars. This figure includes funding for social programmes, support for vulnerable groups, development of the social security system and restoration of human capital”, said the report.
