Having previously worked with these organisations through our Small Grants Scheme, …

📣Introducing the Ukraine Community Resilience F 📣Introducing the Ukraine Community Resilience Fund

Since the launch of our Ukraine Emergency Appeal in February 2022, The BEARR Trust has raised over £600,000 to support grassroots organisations in Ukraine and Moldova responding to the devastating impact of Russia’s full-scale invasion.

As the war enters its fourth year, emergency aid remains crucial — but so does long-term recovery. That’s why we’re evolving our response and launching a new initiative: The Ukraine Community Resilience Fund.

This new fund will support small, local organisations working on the ground to help communities recover with a renewed focus on projects that build long-term resilience. These include mental health services, inclusion for IDPs, trauma recovery, and community cohesion. These are the trusted local actors who remain after major donors leave — and they need our support now more than ever.

🗓️To mark the launch, we’re hosting an online event on 8 May at 18:00 BST, featuring Prof Victoria Donovan, Professor of Ukrainian and East European Studies at the University of St Andrews.

Our 2024 Small Grants Scheme projects are now comi Our 2024 Small Grants Scheme projects are now coming to a close, with some still ongoing — and our partners are beginning to share their achievements, insights, and the impact of their work.

One such project comes from Contribution to Women and Children, who supported displaced women and young people from Nagorno-Karabakh by teaching them sewing and beadwork skills. The initiative aimed to ease integration into new communities by offering not only economic empowerment, but also opportunities to connect with local residents and access psychological counselling.
