Putin endorses creation of CIS association of volunteer organisations
The Russian President endorses the creation of an association of volunteer organisations in the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS)

This initiative is the brainchild of Dobro.rf.
At an informal summit of CIS Heads of State held on 8 October, Vladimir Putin gave his approval for the creation of an association of volunteer and non-profit organisations in the CIS and the organisation of annual volunteer fora.
“2024 is the Year of the Volunteer Movement in the CIS. The Russian Presidency has taken steps to establish a system of cooperation in this area. Expert inter-state working groups have been set up, and a number of youth and volunteer activities already organised”, said Putin. He also stated that it may be possible to provide separate grants for the most significant volunteer initiatives through the CIS Humanitarian Cooperation Fund.
“The establishment of this new association represents a successful outcome to the CIS Year of the Volunteer Movement as it draws to a close”, said Artem Metelev, Chair of the State Duma Committee on Youth Policy and head of Dobro.rf, on his Telegram channel.
The idea for an international association for civic participation was proposed by Dobro.rf following a meeting with leaders of national CSOs at its June conference.
