A law on deposit insurance for SONGOs has come into force

The Russian President signed a federal law “On Amending Article 18,996 of the law “On Insolvency (Bankruptcy)” and “On Insurance of Deposits in Banks of the Russian Federation” last December.

The new federal law provides for the extension of the insurance system for deposits placed by CSOs and SONGOs. This applies to SONGOs whose details are included on the register of CSOs that perform useful social services and those on the list of SONGOs maintained by federal authorities.
