Russia: grants for some CSOs forced to stop work because of pandemic

On the instructions of Vladimir Putin, State subsidies are being given to cities where restrictions have been placed on organisations due to the coronavirus pandemic. The scheme came into effect on 1 August, with grants also available to small and medium-sized enterprises. The requirements for granting such payments have been approved by Russia’s Prime Minister, Mikhail Mishustin.
A CSO must be on the register of organisations most affected by the spread of Covid in order to qualify for the subsidies. Organisations that are in the process of liquidation, undergoing insolvency proceedings or have been excluded from the United State Register of Legal Entities will not be entitled to support. In addition, a CSO must not have tax arrears of more than 3,000 roubles.
The amount of compensation for every two weeks of downtime will be equal to half the minimum wage per employee, with the possibility of increasing the level of support to one minimum wage in the case of prolonged restrictions.
A total of eight billion roubles has been set aside to help entrepreneurs and CSOs.
