The author of the proposal stated that it will support the business community in Russia.

Sultan Khamzaev, a State Duma deputy, has submitted his proposal to Maxim Reshetnikov, Head of the Ministry of Economic Development, reports RIA Novosti.

Khamzaev said that he had received a number of requests from campaign groups, asking for the status of socially responsible businesses to be enshrined in law. He mentioned entrepreneurs who have actively supported the country’s public health, security and sovereignty over the past few years. These business people, he says, should be recognised in the same way as SONGOs.

“Up until now, entrepreneurs who are actively involved in socially important work have received various benefits, grants and partial “tax relief”. However, public status of such companies is still lacking”, said Khamzaev.
