Death of BEARR Patron the Duchess of Abercorn
The BEARR Trust is sad to inform its supporters and readers of the death of its patron the Duchess of Abercorn in December 2018. She lived in Northern Ireland. She was a descendant of Alexander Puskhin and founded the Pushkin Trust to promote creative learning in honour of her ancestor. In 2003 she received an honorary doctorate from the University of Ulster, and in 2006 the Ireland Fund of Monaco presented her with the Princess Grace of Monaco Humanitarian Award. The Duchess was also awarded the OBE for services to charity and education in 2008.
