Ryazan Memorial and the Russian Research Centre for Human Rights have been removed from the register as a result of their dissolution.
On 5 July, the journalists Olesya Gerasimenko and Sergei Yezhov, St Petersburg municipal deputy Sergei Troshin and former municipal deputy, Fyodor Utkin, together with lawyer and constitutional law expert Grigory Vaypan, were added to the list of foreign agents. According to the Ministry, they have been involved in disseminating misleading information about the army and the authorities.
The department stated that Vaypan had distributed materials and taken part in foreign agent activities. It should be pointed out that Vaypan works at the Institute of Law and Public Policy (classed in Russia as a foreign agent) and was a lawyer at International Memorial, having also received a prize from the now dissolved Moscow Helsinki Group for defending human rights in court in 2022.
