Kyrgyzstan’s National Statistical Committee publishes most common causes of death

Circulatory diseases remain the main cause of death in Kyrgyzstan as of 2024. This data is provided by the National Statistical Committee.

According to the report, the mortality rate from diseases of the circulatory system was 230.3 per 100,000 population.

Other causes of death are:

– tumours (60 in 100,000);

– coronavirus disease (0.2 in 100,000);

– gastrointestinal diseases (22.4 in 100,000);

– respiratory diseases (27.2 in 100,000);

– injuries, poisoning and other external causes (28.6 in 100,000), including:

traffic accidents (11.8);

deliberate self-harm (4.1);

accidental drowning (1.7);

accidental alcohol poisoning (1.6);

and infectious and parasitic diseases (6.6 in 100,000).

The National Statistical Committee also notes that 73% of those who died from accidents were people of working age.
