This is a Dobro.rf initiative in strategic partnership with the Alfa-Bank.
This new venture was announced at the International Civic Participation Forum, #WeAreTogether, which was held in Moscow from 2-5 December.
The platform will become a “transparent marketplace” for CSOs that brings together donations, support measures, training and partner searches. The main technologies will include a digital rouble, artificial intelligence tools and integration with Gosuslugi and the MAX Messenger app. The project is being organised at the request of Dmitry Chernyshenko, Russia’s Deputy Prime Minister.
“We are creating a digital infrastructure of trust where every transaction is transparent. People will be able to see comprehensive information about fundraising, expenditure and where their donations are going. We know that three-quarters of all Russians are willing to take part in charity, but only one in three trusts charitable foundations, which is hindering development in the sector”, said Artem Metelev, Chair of the State Duma Committee on Youth Policy and Head of Dobro.rf ecosystem.
The platform’s features include an instant assessment of the trustworthiness of a CSO, digital donor wallets, corporate and regular payments, as well as detailed reporting on where donations are going. Personal accounts with add-on features will be created for philanthropists and organisations.
“As a technology company, we believe in projects where innovations such as a digital rouble can solve problems for people. Our joint platform establishes a clear and easy path between the desire to help and achieving tangible results”, said Alfa-Bank’s CEO, Vladimir Verkhoshinsky.
The Bank plans to invest 100 million roubles in the project for infrastructure development, research and digital services. The Freedom International Group will also be a partner, enabling the platform to operate abroad.
Experts say that thanks to State support and broad integration, even small CSOs will be able to raise funds alongside larger foundations. The introduction of AI and a digital rouble could significantly increase the trust of Russians and involve more people in systemic charity work.
