Application open for Young Souls Welfare Project

Application process opens for the Young Souls Welfare Project

13.08.2019

The Association of Volunteer Centres and the Charitable Foundation Memory of the Generations have announced the launch of their joint welfare project known as Young Souls.  The two organisations will be distributing grants totalling 3.5 million roubles, with each successful application receiving between 50,000 and 250,000 roubles.

The purpose of the project is to identify best practice among voluntary organisations and share their ideas with others involved in good causes.  It also seeks to promote innovative ways of encouraging people over the age of 55 to get involved in charity work – so-called ‘silver’ volunteering.

The tender runs from 10 August to 1 October and is divided into five categories: Mentoring, Social Support, Education, Protecting Nature and Active Ageing.  It is open to individual volunteers and to the heads of charities and NGOs, government organisations, businesses and other groups with people of all ages.

The application deadline is 8 September.  For full details click here — молодыдушой.рф

An expert commission will be considering written applications between 9 and 25 September.  The results of the tender are to be announced at the Russian Forum of Silver Volunteers, to take place in Moscow from 1 to 3 October 2019.

Young Souls is a national project run by the Association of Volunteer Centres in conjunction with the Charitable Foundation Memory of the Generations.  It is designed to create the conditions necessary to encourage older people (generally above the age 55) to get involved in charity work.
