Competition for NGO evaluation of family services
Competition announced for NGO projects to evaluate standards of family services’ provision

The independent NGO “Regional Centre for Practical Psychology and Social Work, Vector” is running a competition for NGO projects to evaluate standards in the area of family services provision. NGOs with practical experience of projects and services aimed at the prevention of social orphanhood, as well as having strong links with regional and local institutions and administrations, will be invited to take part.
The competition is being held as part of the NGO support programme to prevent social orphanhood “Masterful NGOs”. This is a two-year initiative (2014-2015) that seeks to develop the social services market for children and families faced with difficult every-day living conditions in the Ural and Volga Federal Districts, as well as raising the skills levels of staff and professionals working in NGOs and social services. The programme is run in partnership with the National Fund for the Protection of Cruelty to Children, with support from the relevant authority responsible for children’s rights in Perm.
The competition will consider projects in the following fields: providing urgent psychological assistance via a children’s telephone helpline service, with a specific number that can be dialled from anywhere in the country; short-term emergency family counselling; creating a rehabilitation environment for families and their children (a family club); social family services (home help); psychological group work with parents prone to violence against their children (anger management); group work with children with aggressive behavioural problems, together with the close professional (supervisory) support from specialists who provide social services to families and children.
