Live Encyclopedia of Voluntary Initiatives Launched
. The “Initipedia” is an internet guide on the various personal and voluntary initiatives which anyone can participate in editing. The Initipedia (from “initiative” and “encyclopedia”) appears on the website: www.svoboda-iniciativ.ru. This internet resource is aimed at a wide public and is required to report simply and clearly on the activities of various non-commercial associations, organisations and groups. The initiators of the project intend to dispel negative stereotypes about voluntary initiatives and prejudices that often hold back such organisations and put people off such good works. On the pages of the Initipedia each organisation can give details of their activities with the aim of attracting people in St. Petersburg to help with their work. This live encyclopedia is part of a joint project of the Centre for Development of Non-commercial Organisations and the EKOM Experts Centre that started in January 2007.
