The Moldovan government will pay compensation to the population during the cold season, but the payment procedure has not yet been determined. As reported by INFOTAG, this was announced by the Minister of Labour and Social Protection, Alexei Buzu.

After a government meeting on Wednesday, Buzu told reporters that all Moldovan citizens in need would receive assistance.

“And this year the government will be there to help them through the cold season. We are in the process of finalising all technical aspects, including those related to cost. You have seen that the price of gas has become a little lower. We are making these adjustments because this programme is aimed at many households. I will ask for a little patience, and we will inform you about all the specific aspects once they are available. All details will be finalised and presented to citizens in November,” the minister has said.

He stressed that citizens wishing to receive compensation must register, as in previous years, on the government portal.

“Depending on income, family members, and other factors, the system will determine the amount of compensation to be received,” Buzu has said.

The ministry has previously reported that this year it intends to change the system of compensation for energy costs so that instead of compensating part of the expenses according to the bills, it will pay cash compensation.
