Possible amendments to the law on ‘foreign agents’
Possible amendments to the law on foreign agents will be studied by specialists and decisions taken based on their analysis

The above was reported by TASS quoting the president’s press secretary, who was also reported as saying that the idea of amending this law had been raised on a number of occasions, including at meetings between Putin and civil rights defenders because of the way it had operated in practice. The day before president Putin had acknowledged in the light of his own experience that the law needed further amendment. It was clear that the provisions of the law were not open to consistent interpretation and that they sometimes damaged the activities of perfectly loyal pro-Russian organisations which were designed to help people. However, he stressed that experience had shown the introduction of the law to have been neither arbitrary nor useless.
