The idea is to draft a strategy for medical volunteering by 2019, to help all regions all over Russia to manage voluntary medical work. An all-Russian association of “Volunteer-medics” is working on the strategy. A full version will be ready this autumn. Apparently local authorities often want to help support such volunteering but do not know how to. The strategy is designed to help them.

Before the document is promulgated around the country it will be discussed and agreed with major voluntary organisations and the Ministry of Health.
