📣The Trustees are delighted to welcome Ross Gill as the new BEARR Chairman!

Ross, a Trustee since 2015, has served as an energetic and dedicated Treasurer for most of that time and played no small part in BEARR’s achievements.

After completing a second term as Chairman of The BEARR Trust Nicola Ramsden stepped back from the chairmanship at the end of 2024. Under Nicola’s effective and inspiring leadership BEARR has achieved remarkable growth and successfully met the challenges of an exceptionally difficult period.

The BEARR Trust is seeking a new Honorary Treasure

The BEARR Trust is seeking a new Honorary Treasurer!

This is an opportunity for someone with a knowledge of financial processes and systems to work on a voluntary basis to support the work of the BEARR Trust in the role of Honorary Treasurer.

Experience of financial administration is more important than formal qualifications in accountancy or finance. The time commitment evens out at about three hours per week, with fluctuations throughout the year.

📢 Join us for a talk and discussion with Dr Armen Sarkissian

The BEARR Trust invites you to a talk and discussion with Dr Armen Sarkissian, former President of Armenia (2018–2022). Dr Sarkissian will present his book, The Small States Club: How Small Smart Powers Can Save the World, and share insights on the current political situation in Armenia.

📅 Date: Monday, 10 March 2025
⏰ Time: 6:00 PM UK Time
📍 Location: House of Lords (kindly sponsored by Lord Tyrie) and online via Zoom

This hybrid event has limited in-person capacity. To attend in person, please register your interest by 28 February. We will confirm availability one week prior to the event.

The BEARR Trust’s events are free to attend and open to all. However, we welcome donations to support our work—suggested amounts are £20 per person, £10 for students and jobseekers, or more if you are able.

📢 We are pleased to announce that the Small Grants Scheme for 2025 is now open for bids!

To assist organisations with the applications process, a webinar will be held on Friday, 10 January, 2025 at 11:00 AM London time. The event will be held in English, with simultaneous interpretation available in Ukrainian and Russian.
