Dear friends and colleagues,
We hope this finds you safe and well. At The BEARR Trust we are, like everyone, appalled and saddened at the loss of life, injury and destruction of homes in Türkiye and Syria as a result of the earthquakes. Our thoughts are with the many thousands of displaced people, the families grieving their loved ones, and with those not yet found.
In our first newsletter of 2023, we are delighted to announce that BEARR’s 30th Anniversary Lecture will be given by The Rt Hon Sir Malcom Rifkind KCMG KC on Tuesday 14 March 2023, at the EBRD’s new headquarters in Canary Wharf.
We also look back on a year since the launch of our Emergency Appeal for Ukraine, share news of our upcoming civil society survey for 2023, and bring you three project reports from recipients of our 2022 Small Grants Scheme.
