Webinar — Voices from Ukraine: a year of BEARR’s Community Resilience Fund

One year of the Ukraine Community Resilience Fund. Hear from the partners and communities your support has helped.
Join us online on Thursday 14 May at 5pm BST for a webinar marking one year of the Ukraine Community Resilience Fund. Ukrainian interpretation will be provided throughout.
A year ago, we launched the Ukraine Community Resilience Fund — a new initiative to move beyond emergency aid and provide sustained support to grassroots organisations working on the front lines of recovery in Ukraine.
Since Russia’s full-scale invasion in 2022, The BEARR Trust has stood alongside the most vulnerable people affected by the war — internally displaced people, veterans, children, older adults, and people with disabilities. Our Emergency Appeal for Ukraine and Moldova supported urgent humanitarian needs in those early years. The Ukraine Community Resilience Fund builds on that commitment, providing small grants to community-based organisations that are not just surviving the crisis, but actively rebuilding their communities.
Now, one year into the fund, we want you to hear directly from the people doing that work.
Join us on 14 May for an online conversation with three of our funded partners, who will share what life and work looks like on the ground, the impact your support has made possible, and the challenges that remain. The event will be moderated by Anna Bowles, journalist and author of the Substack blog Anna Talks Ukraine.
Our speakers:
- Ivan Vostroknutov, Head of Kharkiv City Boxing Club, Kharkiv
- Nataliya Shmurikova, Head of the Board, Center for Strategic Initiatives, Khmelnytskyi
- Sashko Protyah, Head of NGO Freefilmers, Kyiv
Ukrainian interpretation will be provided throughout.
