76% of Russians want their children and grandchildren to become volunteers

A survey has been conducted by the All-Russian Public Opinion Research Centre to coincide with International Volunteer Day on 5 December.
According to the research, 76% of those asked said they would like their children and grandchildren to become volunteers. 23% were sure they would, compared to 15% who were convinced their offspring would not.
67% of respondents were more or less aware of the work performed by volunteers in their region. 51% had heard about the work carried out by volunteers but without knowing the details. 16% were aware of specific projects and activities, compared to 33% who didn’t know anything about them.
Respondents gave an average score of 3.82 out of a possible 5 for the contribution of volunteers in resolving community problems. The highest score was given by 31% and the lowest by 5%.
The All-Russian Public Opinion Research Centre conducted the survey on 27 November, with a total of 1,600 Russians over the age of 18 taking part.
