“Best Social Projects” programme
This
programme is being administered with support from the federal ministries of
labour and social development, and of natural resources and ecology
respectively, the Strategic Initiatives Agency, the WWF, the FSC and other
bodies with the aim of focusing public attention on the theme of social
responsibility and the encouragement and dissemination of best practice amongst
representatives of business, public and state.
Following
a conference held in Moscow, a ceremony took place at which a list of best
practices submitted by companies, NGOs and the media was presented. The
conference itself offered an opportunity to discuss the practical problems of
social development in Russia, to become acquainted with domestic and
international experience in resolving them by way of socially oriented
enterprise and to work up strategies for developing social programmes in
Russia.
Invited
to take part were representatives of governmental bodies, communal
organisations and show business in Russia involved in charitable activities and
social projects.
