Calls double to Russian psychological helpline

Number of calls to psychological support helpline doubles

Data provided by analysts from Alfastrakhovaniya

18.07.2022

The Alfastrakhovaniya helpline, which offers psychological support, has received double the amount of calls in the first half of 2022 compared with last year.

The most common support needs are personal problems (38 percent), work problems (34 percent) and general anxiety (25 percent).

The analysts report that people are often complaining of post-Covid depression, a prolonged worsening of underlying mood, apathy and a loss of interest in life.  If at the beginning of the pandemic people were suffering from the stress of lockdown and the switch to remote communications, then now they are experiencing difficulties with excessive socialisation.

People prefer to have appointments with a psychologist by telephone.  The biggest number of those calling the helpline are women between 30 and 40 years old (77 percent of the total).

The analysts’ findings have been published by TASS.
