CSO (NGO) leaders received state awards

These awards are honour and recognition for those who actively participated in the volunteering programme ‘We are Together’.

The judges published the results on the official internet portal on 14 October by order of the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin under the title’On the awards of the Russian Federation’.

The article in particular lists the nominations ‘for active participation in the preparation and realisation of all-Russian volunteering programme We are Together’. The honour was awarded to the founders of the Vera Hospice charitable fund, and to Anna Federmesser, Director of the Moscow Multidisciplinary Centre for Palliative Care.

The Order of Friendship was recieved by the president of the St Petersburg charity ‘Perspectives’, Marina Ostrovskaya. Awards ‘For Kindness’ were awarded to Olga Vatomskaya, director of the ‘I am free’ animal welfare fund; Maria Morozova, director of the ‘Elena and Genadi Timchenko fund’; Yulia Nazarova, president of the food charity ‘Rus’; Pavel Savchuk, chairman of Medical Volunteers;  Victor Semenko, director of the ‘Centre for Independent Life’; Grigory Sergeev director of the ‘Centre for the search of missing people’; and Yana Storozhuk, head of the charity ‘Edge of Good’.

‘We are together’ began in March 2020. It was launched by the All-Russian Popular Front, and was supported by many different volunteer and not for profit organisations. The charity has supported the elderly and those with disabilities, as well as doctors.
