October Donors’ Forum to discuss charity managemet

The theme of this year’s Donors’ Forum conference is “Charity management: a history of challenges and innovation”. Charity, economic and management experts, together with representatives from Government agencies, businesses and the media will come together on 20 October at the “Tsaritsyno” Museum and Reserve to answer key questions and discuss new goals.
The plenary session is expected to discuss how to become a true professional in the sector as such a quality often conflicts with people’s gut feelings and debate what can be done to bridge this gap. Topic based discussion sessions will focus on issues such as high-level management, management of image, reputation and technologies which can enhance effective management practices, as well as management of strategy, processes and personnel. The conference programme is now available on the Donors’ Forum website.
The conference will include the award of the “For leadership in the field of evaluation” prize and an award ceremony for the winners of the 5th photo project “Objective charity”. Photo stories which are ahead in the voting for the “Experts’ prize”, “In recognition of colleagues” (according to the results of voting by delegates on the day) and the “People’s choice” c(based on the results of online voting) categories will be nominated.

The Donors’ Forum meeting will be held in the “Tsaritsyno” Museum and Reserve which is a partner organisation for the XIV conference. “Tsaritsyno” is an historic landscape park which contains ponds and pavilions, a palace complex, an orangery, flower beds and fountains. The conference will take place in the Grand Palace designed by the architects Vasily Ivanovich Bazhenov and Matvey Federovich Kazakov. People will be able to relax in the park grounds during breaks in between sessions and plenaries.
Other partners involved in the conference are the “System” charity, the company “Exon Oil and Gas Limited” and the corporate charity “Karten”.

The Donors’ Forum is an association of the largest charitable (donor) organisations operating in the Russian Federation. It is the only body that brings together charities and companies that are routinely engaged in charitable activities. In the main, the Forum works through organising meetings and conferences and by providing information that is vital to the everyday work of the donor community.
The Forum’s annual conference is the oldest Russian open experts’ platform where the most important national and global trends in the charity sector are discussed in a professional environment. The conference is not just for members of the Forum who’ve chosen charity as their profession but also for anyone with an interest in the subject.
