Russian Red Cross humanitarian aid to refugees in Russia

05.03.2022

A total of 235 aid collection centres are operating throughout Russia, 55 of which are based in regional offices of the Russian Red Cross (RRC). Aid has already been delivered to the Rostov, Voronezh, Volgograd and Saratov regions among others.

People can bring casual and outdoor clothes, footwear, underwear and basic necessities such as hygiene products and children’s clothing to collection points. A full list of what displaced people need can be found on: www.asi.org.ru/wp-content/uploads/2022/02/potrebnosti.pdf.

It is still possible to help by giving money. The RRC has set up an account to enable donations to be made online (https://securepayments.sberbank.ru) with reports on the amount raised to be posted on its website (https://www.redcross.ru) on a monthly basis. So far, 14.6 million roubles have been collected which will be used to set up play rooms in temporary accommodation centres and in purchasing prams, air recyclers, pharmacy and supermarket vouchers.

The RRC has set up a hotline to help reunite displaced persons. The toll-free number is: 8 800 700 44 50 and the line is open from 09.00 to 21.00 daily, Moscow time.
