Previously, Ukrainian refugees working in Moldova were given health insurance by derogation from a law based on an Emergency Committee regulation.
A new law drafted by the Moldovan Ministry of Health and the National Health Insurance Company and adopted by Parliament at second reading will ensure that they are granted the same rights as Moldovan citizens in the compulsory health insurance sector even after the end of the current state of emergency, ipn.md has reported.
Statistics show that 1,302 Ukrainian citizens were employed in the country at the beginning of February. Resources for the provision of medical services will come from compulsory health insurance funds within the limits of the budget approved under the Law on Compulsory Health Insurance Funds for 2024.
